Maple-Thyme Pork Chops
Makes:
4 servings (4 ounces cooked meat and 1 tablespoon pecan mixture)

Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork loin chops, about 3/4 inch thick (about 1 1/4 pounds total)
- 1/4 teaspoonsalt
- 1/4 teaspoonground black pepper
- 1 tablespooncanola oil
- 2 tablespoonsfinely chopped shallot
- 2 tablespoonschopped pecans, toasted
- 2 tablespoonsmaple-flavored syrup
- 1 tablespoonmelted butter
- 1 tablespoonsnipped fresh thyme
Directions
Sprinkle chops with salt and ground black pepper. In a very large skillet heat oil over medium-high heat. Add shallot; cook and stir for 1 minute. Add chops; cook for 9 to 13 minutes or until pork juices run clear (160°F), turning once halfway through cooking time.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine pecans, syrup, butter, and thyme. Place cooked pork chops onto 4 dinner plates. Top with syrup mixture.
Money-Saving Tip: Switch out the 2 tablespoons shallot for 1/4 cup chopped onion.
